About Us
Friends of mine who own sheep introduced me to felt making, the first thing I made was a pair of slippers, I loved the whole process, I was completely hooked, and started, exploring this media, pushing the boundaries, all the time.
It didn’t take long before people were buying my work, and galleries asking me to exhibit. At the same time I got many requests to teach felt making, I started teaching children, and it became apparent they were just as enthusiastic as adults,
I saw a need to make the process as easy as possible, without compromising the quality of the work. I now have developed a range of kits that are fun to make. You can follow my instructions in the kits, or download the video and watch me making felt. I have chosen the most requested felt projects, everyone who has ever made the artfelt in my kits has had great results. So now you too can be a great felt artist.
I have always been involved in visual art, be it painting, drawing or textiles. I trained as a hairdresser when I left school. I then went to night classes to learn about jewellery and worked for a while in the jewellery trade. When I started a family, we moved to Somerset, South West England, and I worked as a graphic artist, with my husband in a printing business. I learnt a whole new set of skills, but working on a computer always felt a bit remote, not very touchy feely.
I hope you enjoy making your Artfelt kit as much as I have in creating it.
